The wages of Vietnamese workers continue to soar in 2022.

Their wages keep raised every year, however, recent rising wages seems even worse because business circumstances in Vietnam still suffers from inflation. I guess many manufacturers in Vietnam already seem to face many difficulties.

The above map  visualized the poverty rate in Vietnam.

We are not able to say that its completetly related with the salary level, however, we can say that high-salary helps lower poverty rate.

 

Ho Chi Minh & Ha Noi region represents the lowest poverty rate, while the northwestern mountainious and central highlands have the highest poverty rate.

 

The average wage level is in the same context.

In Q2, 2022, Ho Chi Minh area hits 9.1mil VND & Ha Noi region reached at 8.9mil VND level.

 

Just 5years ago,

10mil VND was very iconic amount of wage among Vietnamese workers. If someone got 10mil VND paycheck, it meant he was a very talented guy with outstanding position.

 

But now, after only 5years,

the average amount of wage in Ho Chi Minh city reached about 10mil VND. City's wage soaring rapidly.

What does this numbers stand for?

It means, in a view of manufacturing companies with labor-intensive structures, Ho Chi Minh & Ha Noi area is no longer a sustainable business field.

 

Mekong Delta is no longer an area suitable for further investment. If an enterpreuner considers investing or expanding their businness, they must travel a long long way, it may take more than 6-8 hours from the cities.

 

Manufacturers that survived from COVID-19 pandemic are still struggling woth soaring gas prices, logistics shortages and uncetainty in the Ukraine-Russian War. Clothing, textile and shoes manufactirers in particular are in trouble. The companies to start firing a lot of workers to survive.

 

Its certain that winter is came.

How long this winter will contiue.
